There are only a few LEGITIMATE registries for the Dogue de Bordeaux.
FCI- FCI is international (this is NOT FIC)
AKC– All dogues in the AKC-FSS database with proper 3 generations behind have been moved to full AKC status as of July 1, 2008.
If a dogue does not have a registration from either AKC (not AKC-FSS, regular AKC as the breed is now accepted into the Working Group!) or FCI (or it’s birth country’s national kennel club), I would not even consider buying it as you may have no idea what you are getting. Dogues left in the AKC-FSS database are NOT eligible to show as they did not/do not have proper 3 generations behind them. There are additional international registration bodies such as England’s “Kennel Club or KC”, Canada’s “Canadian Kennel Club, CKC”, Australia’s “Australian National Kennel Club, ANKC” and others.

Formerly AKC-FSS accepted registries up until July 1, 2008
USBC- This is the oldest breed club registry, no longer registering dogues, complete database was turned over to AKC.
UKC- United Kennel Clubs registry- no longer accepted as a main registration for AKC
The AKC no longer accepts UKC pedigrees to register dogs for full AKC privileges as of 7/1/08.
The following registries are not recognized by the AKC. Use of these registries is not recommended in ANY capacity. We strongly advises against purchasing Dogue de Bordeaux puppies or adults, or contracting with Studs who are registered with any of these registries. The AKC will not accept any of these registration bodies into the AKC or AKC-FSS. The DDBS has been advising owners and breeders of the pending acceptance into AKC for many years and stressing the transfer of registration to AKC.
